President’s Message The Organization of Opportunities As members of JCI, we contribute to being the change on an individual, chapter, and national level. JCI International 2011 Plan of Action “is inspired by a new era – an era in which the destiny of the world is being defined by citizens rather than nations”. We are collectively part of the ‘Citizens Initiative’. JCI Lower Mainland’s mission is to contribute to the advancement of our community by providing the opportunity for young Canadians to develop leadership skills, social responsibility, entrepreneurship and fellowship necessary to create positive change. JCI prides itself on offering the following four areas of opportunity: • Individual Development • Business Development • Community Development • International Development The mix of programs and projects used to deliver these opportunities to the members varies between local chapters based on the members’ preferences and desires. Annual awards are handed out for programs, one-time projects, and individual achievement showcasing the wide variety of activities the JCI Canada chapters undertake. From holding business and personal development training programs, to attending international conferences, to participating in networking events to fundraising for various charities, our members are very active in their local chapter and communities. We welcome you to join us at any of our upcoming events. Sincerely, Tanya Hasey president@jcilowermainland.org
