JCI BC/Yukon Regional Convention

This Year the BC/Yukon Regional Convention will be hosted by JCI Lower Mainland at the River Rock Casino in Richmond, BC.  Over the course of the weekend convention delegates will have the opportunity to participate in three professional training workshops as well as the Regional Effective Speaking Competition and the Regional Annual General Meeting. The weekend will be highlighted with a Banquet Dinner and Awards Gala, where our members will be recognized for their personal development achievements and for creating positive change within their communities.

 Positive Seduction: Getting Others to Follow You Willingly

Do you ever wonder why people are so willing to follow one leader without question, but hesitate to listen to other leaders even if they have great vision?

What makes someone charismatic or dynamic? How can I approach my members or co-workers to convince them to help me on a project?

This seminar will show participants how to improve their displayed attitude, while teaching effective methods of approaching people, setting up your targets and sealing the deal.

Finally, participants will learn how to create a sense of ownership in their team and how to motivate them to future successes.

Regional Effective Speaking Competition

The 2011 effective speaking topic has been chosen from a list of potential topics that were submitted throughout Canada. 

This year’s topic is....The Power of One.
This topic ties in with 2010 JCI World President Roland Kwemain’s message of the Impact of One. 

We are very excited about the speeches that will come from this topic as we feel it will give individual speakers a wide array of ideas to talk about and not limit them to a similar speech amongst competitors.There are a number of directions that speakers can take with this topic and we look forward to hearing many motivational and inspirational speeches reflecting on the power of one.
